“I’m so excited ‘Lights On Fest’ will be making its return,” says H.E.R. “It’s my favorite way to wind down the summer by having two days filled with great R&B music. I am so proud to reveal the extraordinary talent we have on the bill this year and can’t wait for everyone to see what’s to come!”

Presale tickets go live Thursday, June 29, at noon PT. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 30, at noon PT.

H.E.R. first launched the Lights On Fest in 2019 as a one-day event. Following the festival’s success, it evolved into a multi-day event.

In 2021, there were plans to bring the Lights On Fest to the east coast, specifically Brooklyn, New York; however, the event was postponed “due to the ever-evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Circling back to H.E.R., the Bay Area native released a powerful ballad in May titled “The Journey.” Written by Diane Warren, the song was released in partnership with ESPN.

Tim Corrigan, ESPN’s vice president of production, said, “The NBA regular season is one long journey, and taken you get the NBA Playoffs, which is a journey of its own. All 16 teams have their own paths to accomplishing their goal of an NBA Championship. And, as the song says, ‘it’s a hell of a ride.’”

Corrigan added, “We are honored that H.E.R. chose to team up with ESPN to help introduce this song to the world. It’s another great example of what we can do at the intersection of sports and music.”

“As an NBA fan, I’m so grateful to be part of this year’s ‘Journey’ to the NBA Finals,” said H.E.R.

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music, H.E.R. confirmed that she is back in the studio working on the follow-up to her 2020 debut, Back of My Mind

“I’m in the studio. And this is the thing, I’ve been forced to pay attention to these deadlines and all these. I don’t care about this stuff anymore. I just want to make music. And when I feel like it’s ready, it’s going to be ready and you’ll get it.”
