Tory Lanez issued a statement after his remarks to the judge went viral this week. Speaking to the judge, Lanez said that he took “accountability” for his actions…which made some fans believe he was admitting to shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
In the rapper’s new statement, he denies shooting Meg.
“I have never let a hard time intimidate me I never never let no jail time eliminate me. Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will. This week in court I took responsibility for all the verbal and intimate moments I shared with the parties involved…That’s it,” he wrote on Instagram.
He continued, “In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully accused of. I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do. This is just nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting til I come out victorious.”
The rapper has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting and is also facing deportation.
